The NAACP Portland Branch 1120 is one of the longest running civil rights organizations in this region ensuring the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and eliminating racial hatred and discrimination.

Meet
the
president

James Posey

James Posey, a Vietnam veteran and Air Force serviceman, has been a dedicated Portland resident for 45 years. He founded Workhorse Construction Metro Inc., co-founded the Portland Coalition of Black Men, and leads the NAACP Portland Branch. A former mayoral candidate, James continues to champion equity, civil rights, and community growth.
